The heart behind Modern Celebrancy

I’m David Cummins — a trained and registered celebrant based in Ireland, and the founder of Modern Celebrancy. My path into this work was shaped by a deep belief that ceremonies should feel authentic, inclusive, and truly personal. Whether it’s a wedding, a funeral, or a rite of passage, these moments deserve more than generic scripts — they deserve care, attention, and soul.

After training with FuturFaith, a modern ministry dedicated to meaningful ceremonies for all, I became a legally recognised solemniser in Ireland — able to lead legally binding weddings, as well as create bespoke, human-centred rituals for every kind of love and life story.

Before this, I spent years working closely with people — listening deeply, helping them express what really matters. That’s the energy I bring into every ceremony: grounded, calm, warm, and creative. I’m not here to “put on a show.” I’m here to hold space, help you speak your truth, and make sure your ceremony feels like you — not just a box-ticking exercise.
